UNION MEETING SYNOPSIS
A retiree got up and addressed the group about social security.
He wanted all of us to contact our
legislators and demand they handle the issue of social security to our benefit.
He also wanted us to convey to our legislators should be paying into various
charities if they don’t pay into social security.

Jon kept referring to information that has “got out”. He has
never been specific as to what actually got out and how that actually caused
any sort of problem. He continues to state that “management” is getting a hold
of information that is hurting the union effort. (It’s interesting that Jon
makes this contention since so much of what he does is never presented to the
members. Many of us think his argument
is completely faulty and is basically just his personal paranoia)

Apparently they are waiting for a public records request to be answered. We have the following information.

This comes third hand but the person I heard if from I trust completely and she says the person she heard it from was at the meeting when Drew Blevins said this:
His statement: I won't ride Trimet buses because of the people that ride the buses and the people that drive the buses!
Is Evette OK?
I am hoping she is getting fair treatment and allowed the respect that an elected officer should have from her fellow officers.
She is entitled to voice her opinions and its good for the membership that she has taken a contrary point of view from our president.
Union meeting roundup-part 1
I'll go through my notes and prepare a better summary of what happened at today's meeting, writing in the most general of terms of course since the paranoia of our president about information 'getting out' continues in full force.
ATU 757 CHARTER MEETING TODAY-3PM
Unfortunately rather than focusing frustration on the management of TRIMET there is a continuing focus on internal disputes.
Personally, I find this a shame, since its so close to election time I was hoping the internal bickering would ease up so we could all focus on bringing down Macfarlane rather than bringing down ourselves.
There are lots of reasons to be angry at President Hunt, some of his behavior has been quite tyrannical, but that is for the election to decide at this point.
Now we have another officer also on the hot seat, which is another distraction.
Can't we all just get along, at least until the elections?
